The children at In Need Home recently enjoyed a very exciting Music, Dance and Drama (MDD) competition that brought everyone together in joy, talent, and teamwork. The event was full of happiness, laughter, creativity, and entertainment as the children competed in different activities and showed their amazing talents.
This year’s MDD competition was held under the theme of Domestic Violence. Every activity that was presented by the groups focused on teaching people about the dangers of domestic violence and encouraging peace, love, respect, and unity in families and communities. Through dance, drama, speeches, and mime, the children passed important messages to everyone who attended the event. The children were divided into four different groups which were Venus, Mars, Neptune, and Jupiter. Each group prepared very well for the competition and worked together as a team. The children spent time practicing their performances and encouraging one another before the big day. The competitions included two cultural dances, one modern dance, a two-minute speech, a skit, and a mime performance. Every group tried their best to impress the judges and the parents of the children who had come to support them. The performances were colorful, energetic, and full of confidence. During the cultural dances, the children wore beautiful costumes and danced to traditional songs from different cultures. Even through the dances, the children included messages against domestic violence and encouraged unity in homes. The parents of the children enjoyed the dances very much because they were lively and well prepared. The children showed great teamwork and discipline during their performances.
The modern dance performances were also exciting and entertaining. The children danced with a lot of energy and confidence while sharing messages about love, care, and protecting one another from violence. The parents of the children cheered loudly as each group performed on stage. The event created a happy atmosphere for all the children, parents, and staff at In Need Home. The speech competition gave the children a chance to speak boldly in front of others. Each group selected a representative who delivered a two-minute speech with courage and confidence. The children spoke clearly about the effects of domestic violence and encouraged families to solve problems peacefully. Their speeches inspired many people who attended the event. The skits were full of creativity and important lessons. The children acted out stories showing the pain caused by domestic violence and how families can live together peacefully through understanding and respect. The parents of the children laughed, learned, and clapped during the performances because the children acted very well. The mime competition was also one of the most interesting parts of the day. The children used actions and body movements to pass messages about domestic violence without speaking. Their creativity and expressions amazed many people who attended the event. Different media houses including Star TV, NBS Television, and Leadership Magazine were also present to capture the event. They recorded the performances and special moments during the competitions, making the day even more exciting for the children. The competition was not only about winning but also about building confidence, teamwork, friendship, and talent among the children. It also helped raise
